About wansteader
|
I have lived in London most of my life and attended the University of East Anglia, Norwich, School of English and American Studies.
I studied History but my main love now is literature. I have one published novel, As Handsome Does, a comic romance. I have also written non-fiction and was editor of an official Government yearbook on the oil and gas industry (well, I had to earn a living somehow!). Since then I have taken a less glamorous post at a nearby hospital, though I hope soon to take up writing full time.
My favourite author is Anita Brookner, whose moving depth and clarity has always impressed me. My ambition as a writer is to try to demonstrate that intelligent writing can be combined with more cheerful subject matter. I have no doubt that it will take a lifetime to achieve, if ever, but it's fun trying.
Apart from writing I have occupied my spare time working as a volunteer with an Aids charity. I am open to correspondence with all lovers of literature.
