excellent service

Purchased a Creative Labs Nomad MuVo TX FM (1 GB) MP3 Player. Had a discount code for $20 off. Although, it did not work online, I called Crutchfield directly and they verified that the discount can be used and they applied it. The price of the product was 199.99 with free delivery, no tax and with 20$ off it was 179.99. But since the final purchase price was 179.99, I was going to be charged delivery which jacked it up to the same price. I asked "So where's the discount for me using this saving code, if the price is the same?" They were nice enough to override the delivery charges and give me the item for $179 free delivery, no tax. Now that is what I called customer service!!!!

Just Go to Best Buy

I bought an Alpine headunit to install into my old Volvo wagon. The headunit was fine, and the shipping was very fast (probably because I live in the same state as Crutchfield).
My beef? They had no "Mastersheet" instructions for my car! They talk these up big-time on the site, but all I had to go on were these useless Scosche instructions.
I called tech support, but they were sort of haughty and gave me bad info.
I asked my master Volvo mechanic (ASE, 30 years' Volvo experience, owns his own shop) to do it, and he agreed. A few days later he said he couldn't find a way to do the install and have it look as good as he'd like.
I ended up paying Best Buy $100 to do the install. It sounds fine, but I would've saved about $40 if I'd just bought the unit from them in the first place.
Bottom line: Crutchfield is OK if you have a super-common car--late-model domestic or Asian import--and you're handy with DIY stuff--esp. electrical in nature.

This was an excellent transaction as always. Ordered Nikon D70 outfit. Crutchfield will call you with your phone number you provided just to verify your online order. I don't know if this is standard practice, but I like this. I checked my tracking, and my order actually arrived 1 day early! My only negative comment is I wish they would lower their prices a little. I am willing to pay more to a highly rated company like Crutchfield (and have in the past), but they have also lost some of my orders to other "high" rated competitors due to price. How about offering price matching on a case-by-case basis? Overall, top notch company, and would recommend to anyone. Thanks Crutchfield!

I bought a Denon 2200 DVD player from Crutchfield on 10-13-03 at 5:00p and it was delivered on 10-14-03 at 10:00a. I use this company as the standard when it comes to rating other companies. There are cheaper prices than what you can find at Crutchfield but you are assured that you will get the product in an orderly manner and in one piece. Crutchfield is an A+++ company.

Here one to buy from. Just a great experience! Fast, friendly, knowledgeable, HONEST, best price and delivered on time. Bought a Nikon D70, now need a longer telephoto lens. Work well shooting my fast 4 year old in low light situations; much better than the Nikon8700, although the 8700 is smaller & lighter.
ps. if you ever come across an outfit from New York called NWV (New World Video) avoid them at all cost, they are CROOKS and should be taken out of business by the NY attorney general for deceptive sales practices, they still owe me a refund from last year, but stalled until the credit card company could not do anything.

I must say, what a great experience dealing with Crutchfield. I ordered a Toshiba 46" DLP TV from them and the whole process was so smooth and pleasant.
To make a long story very short, I tried dealing with Hype Audio - absolutely horrific experience. I decided it was not worth it anymore to deal with the lowest-price , so I went with customer service and satisfaction - precisely what Crutchfield offers.
I will do all of my business through this company from now on. The price may be a bit higher, but you most certainly make up for it with excellent customer service, simplified order and tracking system, knowledgeable and friendly salesmen, and prompt, accurate delivery.
No, I do not work for the company. I am just a satisfied customer.

in stock order not shipped 8 days later

I placed an order on 12-26-05. Everything is in stock and no backorders. For two days my order status said something like "order being processed and verified." Ever since those two days it's said "Items are being prepared for shipping." It's now 1/2/06 and it's still saying that. So, if you expect to get your merchandise quickly you might as well forget it. Many people get their stuff quickly, mine hasn't even shipped yet, one week and one day later.
I complained to customer service and they said they'd give me $15 off my next order. Duhhh, there won't be a next order with service like this so what good is that?
Also, my shipping address is the same as my billing address so it's not as if they are verifying anything weird. Their reason for late shipping is they had a glitch in their "system." Well, the word "had" is past tense and it shouldn't take several more days to get things fixed.
Not too happy waiting for poor service

I recently purchased a Panasonic SA-HE200S Home Theater Receiver from Crutchfield. I had researched this receiver online for many weeks before deciding to make the purchase.
Crutchfield was a little bit higher priced than my local retailers, and some online stores, but I decided to go with them anyway.
I received my receiver today (3 day FREE shipping via FEDEX) and must say that I am amazed at what I saw when I opened the box. Professional packaging, PREPAID return shipping slips WITH instructions, a FREE color (not cheaply made) 100 page Audio/Video reference guide explaining everything about home theater and even including labels for my wiring, a letter from Crutchfield expressing how honored they are to have me as a customer, and a FREE Home theater setup master sheet and booklet.
I was blown away. BRAVO CRUTCHFIELD !!

I ordered a head unit by 5pm Wed. in hopes it would ship that night. I was alerted at 5:02pm of a delay over a bad coupon code. When we spoke, I asked whether the unit would still ship that day, if there would be any other delays, and if they needed any other info. I was told no. When I checked 3 hours later, it was further delayed. I had to call to see why (they needed to "speak to whoever placed the order ) This seemed ridiculous because (1) they had already spoken to me (2) no one called/emailed about the 2nd delay, and (3) I'd asked before if they needed other info. I was pretty annoyed by this since the unit was now going to arrive after a visit from a friend with the proper tools. I emailed Thurs. night and Fri. morning I woke to a pleasant email with a return auth. for the unit and a shipping conf. for a new one, overnighted with Sat. delivery. This is absolutely fantastic cust. service, as is Crutchfields reputation. Thanks Crutchfield!

I ordered a 42 inch plasma TV on Friday and it was shipped on Monday. I received it 9 days later on Eagle Freight. The delivery men unpacked the TV and set it up for me.
After I ordered the TV on-line, a representative from Crutchfield called me to confirm. There was no mention of warranties, accessories, or any other "add-ons". The representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. The price I paid, $2299, was competitive and there was no sales tax or shipping charges.
The entire experience was pleasant and if the opportunity presents itself, I will definitely return to Crutchfield.
