A great Free Shipping DVD online store

I have bought several DVD's here at Deep Discount and I love them, VERY good prices on all of their DVD's and the sister site of Deep Discount CD store. You would think that with FREE shipping they would have a poor selection or bad Customer Service, they have tons of DVD and a great list of what is going to be released and when so you can pre-order it and you are not charged until it is shipped. Two big thumbs up!

Absolutely fantastic place to get dvds. NO place is cheaper i've checked every single website, some are close in price but charge shipping so they are more. i have gotten every one i've ordered within 10 days most around 6 or 7. their inventory is set up to show dvds out of stock once enough orders have been placed so once i called in because something i ordered showed out of stock the next day. someone picked up right away an actual person was very nice and explained my order was indeed being processed and there was one for me. i was so pleased with the service i asked about another dvd and ordered it on the phone. i always get emails confirming shipment of my orders also. everything has shown up in perfect condition as well. you cant have everything people need to appreciate good value, you cant have something in 3 days AND have the cheapest price out there..be reasonable

My experience with Deep Discount DVD has compelled me to write a review. They still haven't sent me my dvd order and kept giving me a run-around on the phone. I thought I was saving money instead I'm losing money. Their customer service is a joke. I got tired of hearing wait until Saturday and call us back if you haven't received it yet by then, Saturday comes around and they'll say wait until Wednesday. You get the picture. At this point, I'm not sure I'll ever get my order. I had to dispute with my credit card company.

I ordered Christmas presents on 12/7/04. The order was shipped via media mail in 2 shipments, one on 12/17/04 and 12/20/04. The items are slated to arrive between 12/26 and 1/5. 18 days should be plenty of time to receive an order during the holidays. When I emailed customer service about my experience, I got a generic form letter back telling me when and where my order was shipped and not addressing my concerns. I now have household members that will not have gifts on Christmas day :(

Never received order, this store is a scam!!!

I ordered a couple of dvd's and never received them. I was told to give it more time everytime I called. I was put on hold for 20 minutes then was told to give it more time again. When I finally said that's what I was told before the customer rep just hung up on me. It was a very frustrating experience. I wasted my money, I will not order from deep discount dvd again, it's not worth the aggravation.

Lousy company. No interest in customer service

I ordered a DVD 2 weeks before Christmas. 2 days before Christmas I receive an email telling the DVD has been on back order but was being shipped that day. The only problem is they shipped the DVD slow boat (5 to 10 days). The following is a letter I sent.
"Why wasn't I notified that the DVD was on back order. This was a Christmas present. I'd like you to tell a 6 year old her present won't arrive till after Christmas. If you had the common decency to contact me, I would have ordered from another store. At the very least why didn't you send it out express for customer goodwill so it would arrive for Christmas? Now I will send her a gift certificate to a toy store and return the DVD to you for a refund. I will never order from you again. Companies that do business this was don't deserve my business.
I'll be sure to post my feelings on every message board I can.

I ordered a DVD once before & it came within a week. The DVD came as described and was at least 3 dollars cheaper than any other site I looked at. The delivery service was great. I am about to order another DVD today and I hope I receive the same service. After looking at other people's reviews, It seems like their return policy and system needs an overhaul but until it happens to me, I can't comment on returns from a personal standpoint.

Used them for years and overlooked many of their weaknesses. Mainly due to competitive pricing on their part. But recently began to look around the net and found those lower prices from the competitors that they say do not exist. I started looking because even though I've given them a lot of business for an individual dvd buyer I recently got terrible order service and return service. I used amazon.com, for example, as an alternative and got a product cheaper and in "off the factory line" quality when it arrived.
Some examples of why they lost my business: do not answer emails, products constantly arrive looking like they've been thru the ringer or scratched dvds, pathetic telephone customer service, slow shipping, finding stuff cheaper elseswhere, charged once for quicker shipping on an item that was damaged and had to be replaced, don't imform you before you order that an item is back ordered, not very user-friendly website, gotten better prices and service from ebayers, half.comers and amazon.com sellers!
So long DDD! I'm happy to pay a few dollars more elseswhere. I hope you improve. Good luck!

First time shopping here, HUGE disappointment. Ordered UMD for my son's psp that was hard to find in my area. Was excited when I found this site and it offered free shipping. Ordered on 12-05-05 for Christmas Order status said my order was complete so I'd get it by the 20th. Item showed in stock when ordered but they say they made mistake, didn't bother to let me know even though I had called a week before to check that it would be here by Christmas I found out that my order wasn't even shipped until the 19th. No Christmas present for my son and they won't give me my money back so I can try and find it locally.

Where's my DVD? It's not in my hands!

The delivery time is horribly slow. You will NOT get your pre-orders "on or around the release date." You will get charged on the release date, but then you'll have to wait weeks for the item to ship.
Don't believe the phony reviews the shop-owners have written here. There's more than a few who have had problems with delivery. If you order from here, expect to wait weeks to receive your DVD's.
In fact, don't order from here. Use the prices to haggle better prices from other stores, and buy from them.

A very bad experience

This place is a rip-off. I feel any company that gives other companies (WLI Shopper Discount)your credit card number so they can charge you a $9 monthly fee for "buyer assurance" should not be in business.
I cannot understand the mentality of a company like Deep Discount DVD giving out credit card numbers so another company can charge you for doing nothing. All that shows up is a $9 charge every month.

I love this joint. The best prices hands down anywhere along with a great selection. However, it will take a while for DVD to make to your doorstep if you use the Free Shipping option. Weeks maybe.

DeepDiscount.com sucks!
I have ordered from them in the past, and this is the second time that they fail to deliver the products within a reasonable time.
In this case (Wii Fit), they still haven't delivered it!
The claim that their supplier hasn't delivered it to them.
Horrible communication and customer service! Like they care!?
Pre-Ordered the item about 3 months ago, and even though the Wii Fit has been out for some time know, I still haven't received my product.
STOP advertising on products you cannot deliver or in certain cases, don't even have!!!
I would rather pay a few extra bucks from one of thousands of other websites, and make sure that the product actually arrives. I will NEVER do business with DeepDiscount.com again!
I am not one who easily complaints, but those guys p...d me off enough for me to write this review!

Not worth the risk

Placed order on Nov 24th, 2007, was notified the order shipped on Nov 27th, 2007. For the next 2 weeks, I checked the site for a tracking number or some sort of information about the order, but the only information available was that it had shipped. On Dec 11th, I finally got through to customer service after repeated busy signals and 30 minutes on hold. I was told the item was out of stock and the order had been canceled, even though the site said it had been shipped. I asked the customer service person why I had been notified the order shipped and not of the cancellation, and her response was "We can't call everyone!" When I received my credit card statement, it showed a refund on November 30th. Had they notified me or updated the information about my order on their website, I could have ordered from another online merchant instead of running out to the mall at the 11th hour. Not worth the few pennies you save, I'll use Amazon from now on.
