Very disappointed. Lied about camera being in-stock!

Ordered Camera on phone with next day delivery. Was told camera was in-stock and would be shipped next day. Confirming email stated camera was back-ordered with estimated shipping date 3 weeks later.

Horrible after sale support. We bought two CD/DVD burners, and ordered two sets of "rails" to go with them (seems like they should have been included, they're just cheesy little pieces of plastic). Anyway, only one set arrived. It took more than an hour on the phone, get transferred from one "know nothing" to another. In the end we found it cheaper (if we priced our time at minimum wage or higher) to just order another set than to get them to admit their error and ship another.

Mixed results--be wary of customer service

In general my experience with Dell has been a mixed bag----sometime good, sometime bad. My wife during the past 6 years has ordered two computer systems and is satisfied with their product and product warranty and technical assistance. However, my one experience in purchasing a Planar 17 inch monitor from Dell was not good. The product was okay--it was the terrible customer service that I encountered when I needed an invoice for my monitor purchase that really alienated me from making any further purchases at Dell.

AWFUL customer service but an overall good deal

Okay, I managed to get a DELL 4600 Desktop with 2.4 Ghz processor, 256 MB RAM, a 17 LCD display, CD r/w drive, wireless keyboard and mouse for the bargain price of $819 (includes shipping). That's a pretty good deal...
Despite the deal, the customer service sucks and I have one bad pixel on my LCD. I tried contacting DELL customer service, was put on hold three times, transferred from one person to another and then finally told they were unable to do anything about the bad pixel. The industry considers LCDs as meeting quality standards if they have less than 5 bad pixels. Who knew???

I am a support tech with Dell.One thing you need to know is the tech support you get with your portable computer that was not bought through a company gets India for support.If it is bought through a company you would get American support from Texas or Alabama or another one of the American sites.I've had no problem with Dell as far as tech support or buying a portable before I started working for them.I haven't had to use them since I started working here.If you are getting bad tech support from India please don't lump us all together.thanks,

What a nightmare! Don't ever buy from DELL !!!

Dell sucks. Although the machine I bought- the 8400 was good, their customer service is a nightmare!!! I returned a $400 monitor because I didn't like the quality. They acknowledged receipt of the monitor 2 months ago. Up until now, I haven't received a single penny of credit to my credit card. They're making investment interest on my $400. What the HELL! I've contacted them twice and both said that I will receive my credit within 5-7days. It's way past 7 days and still no credit. Beware, don't buy from DELL ever. They have the worst tech support/customer support in INDIA. They will ask you all kinds of dumb questions and make you feel really stupid. I wish they go out of business soon so they can stop ripping off people...

The WORST Customer service!

I had the worst experience EVER trying to purchase a server and workstation from Dell. They automatically canceled my order when the sales rep screwed up. Worst of all, they never informed me of it. Also, when another sales rep was attempting to help me (because our initial sales rep won't return phone calls or emails), he told me "I would love to listen to you, but I can't do anything about it"
I'll NEVER spend a dime with Dell because they could care less about small businesses. I highly recommend MPC instead!

I ordered a Lumix LX3 from Dell 6/4/09, and they assured me multiple times that I would have it by July 2nd. There was no waffling on their part - they said we have it in stock (via their online chat).
I just received an email (6/29) saying the ship date has been pushed back to August 11th. By then, I will no longer need the camera for its main purpose (assuming it ever shows up).
So skip this Dell mess. They don't have the LX3 and won't for a long time, despite their promises. If you don't have something and can't get it, don't say you can! Plus, the Dell website still says the product will ship in 3-5 weeks (the same thing it said when I ordered, too).

I ordered a camera flash from Dell and paid for it with a CC. Two weeks later Dell emailed me there was a price mistake and they were going to charge my CC $108 + tax more. I objected and said I would send the flash back. They said it had to be in brand new condition or they would not accept it. I called my CC and they said Dell had put a reserve on my card for $117 but had not charged it yet. They told me I could not do anything till Dell actually charged the card. I called Dell and asked them to release the reserve. They said they have not decided what to do yet. Now I have to call the CC to see if Dell put the charge on.

I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH DELL. I PURCHASED A NEW DESKTOP AND AFTER 10 MONTHS I WAS STUNNED TO LEARN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKED!!! NO OPTIONS NO CHOICES--JUST "SORRY-YOUR NOT COV'D FOR ANY REPAIRS???? I THREW THE COMPUTER AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH DELL IN THE GARBAGE, THEY HAVE MONEY!!!I DON'T $1300. WASTED!!!!!!NEVER AGAIN!!

After seeing how many bad reviews they have received in comparison to the good.
I will not buy from DEll.
To many companies are taking the cheaper (?) way out by having foreign countries perform customer services.
When will the companies of this nation learn that many Americans will not deal with companies that offer poor service and move jobs overseas.

my shopping experience were very bad or the worst that i have in any online shopping, all the erros that happen dell itself create it and the wont me to solve it or the order will be cancel. dell make troubles for me and also for my bank because of incorrect information that we received. i did buy many items from famous websites and had some problems but the these websites solve all the errors and all the items that i received are in its best conditions. but dell survives is very very bad for big known company as dell.

I puchased the 17", when we got it, it was too big, so we ordered the 15" and sent the 17" back. Everyone I talked to was EXTREMELY helpful & very nice. Each computer arrived very quickly, much sooner than I expected it to arrive. I was very happy.

I tried to purchase Series 9, blk and color, and because of the restrictions on type of credit card I had to settle for the smaller quantity, that is, 3 blk and 1 color, in lieu of, 3 blk and 3 color.

Since I have a Dell account and I do not have to pay shipping on the products I order, I use Dell almost exclusively for electronics purchases. I figure there is a reason why every large company I worked for used Dell such as Pasco Sheriff's Office, Chase Credit Card, Humana Health Care. I have never experienced any problems with purchases but occasionally after a few years a product will fail but even this is minimal. Dell also has live online product support if you have questions.

Merchandise not shipped yet. Takes too long to ship laptops no matter if ordered online or phone. I beleive the reason is because the laptops are built in another country. Laptops are laptops and have a limited amount of custom configuration, why not have laptops prebuilt and add/subtract what the customer doesn't want like have the parts prebuilt that are standard. Just like a car, steering wheel is standard and is built. Maybe a car is not a good example as they are customer built on order but you should get my point.
