I recently placed an internet order with FTD for 1 dozen pink roses for my wife. She received 6 red and 6 white roses. I called FTD and explained that this was not what I ordered and would like the matter taken care of. Their response was that there is a substitution policy for online orders and that the assigned florist can substitute.
The problem I have with this is that a customer won't see that policy on the item page and has no indication that they will not receive what they ordered. The customer must click on the customer service link, then click on the substitution policy - in other words, read the fine print!
I once worked for a florist and would never think of substituting anything without contacting the customer. Because the choice of flowers, colors, arrangements, etc tend to be very important to the customer, I think that this was pretty a pretty bad thing to do on FTP's part.

I would absolutely use FTD.com again

I needed a funeral arrangement so I went browsing on-line.Found something I liked at FTD.com and called to place the order. I felt better talking to a human rather than ordering on-line. This was a first time experience using them. I also found a 15% discount code I wanted to use. Called and placed the order and received my discount with no problem. We went to the funeral home in another state and were happy to see the arrangement had already been delivered. It was stunning, even a little nicer than the picture on-line. It was a pleasure to do business with them.

Item was never delivered. ordered on Monday 8/22 (to be delivered on same day), sent an email for confirmation on Tuesday (service they offer), no response. I sent another on Thursday, same no response, I did again today (8/29), got a response back that it had not been ordered. I called and the rep said that they didn't have a florist in the area (Las Vegas) that carried the item I ordered. They did manage to charge my card, but not even an attempt to tell me that the item would not be delivered (I wonder how long it would have been - if ever, that they would have contacted me?). All they could say was sorry, and that they will refund my money (like they were doing me a favor).

When things go bad at ftd.com

This was supposed to be a really bad review for ftd.com. My mom's Mother's Day flowers got to her on Monday and I was so upset because any time I called customer service I would be on hold forever. I never got through. Until I called their sales line. Someone got the order information and told me they will call me back. In about a couple of hours I heard back from them. Not only that they gave me the money back, but they called my mom to make sure the flowers were in good shape and to apologize. This completely changed my opinion about ftd.com.

late delivery, poor product

i ordered chocolate covered sandwich cookies from this store and the delivery time was disappointing, i got my order 5 days late. plus, of 16 cookies in the tin 9 were stale and tasted terrible. this was a gift for a dear friend and i was very embarrassed that she rececieved a gift days late and it was such poor quality.

Don't count on FTD

1. On February 13, 2005 I ordered Roses, chocolates, and a card for my fiance for delivery on Valentine's Day February 14, 2005 from FTD for a total of $101.49 paid online with my American Express account.
2. As of today, February 17, 2005, these flowers have NOT been delivered to my fiance.
3. Multiple attempts to contact FTD via telephone have been unsuccessful due to hold times of greater than 30 minutes.

If you want quality roses, don't come to FTD!

Dozen red roses ordered for our first anniversary and Valentine's Day arrived at our hotel half-wilted and dying. Roses lasted no more than two days. Other roses I've bought for my wife have lasted AT LEAST A WEEK! Contacted customer service after a half-hour wait and got only a $10 credit on a $60 order. Refund request for failure to provide quality product as advertised was denied. Very upset with FTD. They're more concerned about making money than providing quality customer service. Will be looking at Proflowers.com, 1800flowers.com, or another floral merchant next time around.

Nightmare--non-existant customer service.

Nightmare. Valentine delivery requested, order placed on Saturday--plenty of notice for the Monday delivery. Monday nothing, Tuesday nothing. Tuesday night I am on the phone to FTD--after 60 min on hold, I give up. Emails get canned response, never any info. Wed morn I get a human (after 15 min hold), who promises delivery (at 30 discount). Guess what--no delivery Wed. After 30 more min on hold, I am right now on hold with FTD while they check on the order. Nightmare--will it ever end?

This merchant promised delivery on Valentine's Day and delivered the arrangement on February 15th. The flowers delivered were not as described on the website. The stuffed toy bear which was to accompany the delivery turned out to be a stuffed toy dog. There was no response to an on-line attempt to track delivery. It took half an hour to get through to their 1-800 "customer-service" line. They offered a 20% rebate of the total order cost to mollify this angry consumer. Never again.

Near dead Flowers for $129.00 act now!

Near dead Flowers for $129.00 is what they should post on their website. Ordered 18 longstem roses in a vase with full size card and teddy bear for my wife for valentines day. Ordered it 3 weeks in advance to ensure there would be no problems.
What was delivered were 18 roses that were near dead. No card and no teddy bear.
Tried to call them but they were too busy to take my call and suggested I email them.
Emailed them got their robot responder but never received a call.
Now I know that everyone makes mistakes and I don't judge a company by their mistakes but how they handle things to make them right.
UPDATE: My wife called the florist who delivered the flowers. She explained the situation and a fresh bouquet was delivered the next day but just as important, they apologized. Most companies mean well but due to financial stress they are forced to push the envelope.
I was quite upset when I wrote the review but all in all we had a great Valentines day. I probably will never order from FTD again but rather locate a good reliable local florist instead.

No Flowers, On hold for hours, Didn't Care

Terrible service. Valentines Day flowers ordered two weeks out. Just did not deliver. Customer Service had me on hold for over an hour before I hung up. I received an EMail that I would receive a refund with no explanation at all. Buyers beware!!!!! Do not use this service.

I have nothing good to say about FTD.com. They didn't deliver my flowers on Valentine's Day. Their excuse - we overbooked. Maybe they shouldn't guarantee delivery if they can't get them there on time.

Valentines Day Blues

All I can say is I'm shocked at the level of service I received.
I decided to surprise my fiancée with flowers at work for Valentines Day. At about 6:45am, I placed an order through their website for flowers. The arrangement was advertised at $49, but after the myriad of fees they tack on, it was over $60. This was not a problem, but at that price level, one expects to get what they paid for.
At some time during the day, I expected a call, but figured she was playing it "cool" I get home, and talk to her, nothing. No excitement, no expected "Thanks for the flowers, they're wonderful" ...Nothing.
The flowers never arrived.
After finding this out, I attempted to contact customer service at about 4:25PM, at about 4:55PM (30 minutes later) someone answered. I received a refund, but no apology, no attempt to make amends.
I wouldn't recommend this service to my worst enemy.
Thanks, FTD for ruining my fiancée's Valentines Day.

They just can't seem to get it right

I ordered flowers on the morning of October 8th for delivery to my wife on October 12th for our anniversary. I got a call a couple of hours later from my wife thanking me for the flowers, but telling me that our anniversary wasn't until the 12th. I was fuming! I called customer service who said yes, they were delivered in error and that they were sending someone out now to go pick them up. Can you imagine this??? She gets flowers at work on the wrong day thinking I dont know when our anniversary is, and then has them taken away a couple of hours later. To make up for their error they said they would send me a coupon to use on a future purchase. No thanks
there will be no future purchases from FTD.
