I love my garden. I love the feeling of the dirt in my hands. I love planting things and watching them grow. I love watching trees I planted as nothing more that twigs grow and bloom. For me, gardening is both rewarding and fun. I have always been ...

Environmental responsible now there's a saying we've all heard but how many of us can say we are? I may not be completely, but I am trying and one area where I can say I am Environmental responsible is in my gardens.
There has been a lot of...

Well it’s that time of year again! To plant or not to plant! We all find ourselves working out in the yard this Spring Season, because we want our yards to look nice or we are simply bored and have nothing else to do. Or perhaps a man has no choice in...

Since I have had the time to work from home, I have been able to take up gardening. I had a very productive plot last year and am expanding into berries this year. I got a catalog from Gardens Alive and checked out their web site. MERCHANDISE ...

We moved into a house with a large yard three years ago, and of course we had to start a garden. We swiftly discovered that there were many products to think about, particularly with soil as poor as much of ours is: fertilizers, mulches, compost, soil ...

Pros: Excellent educational articles on topics from nematodes to composting tips. Cons: Shipping takes a little too long.
Here’s my latest great bulbs tip. Gardens Alive! Are having a bulb grab bag sale. I’m planning on buying at least a hundred bulb grab bag, and I’m sure it’s going to provide my garden with much fun and color next spring. I will participate in...

I love this store. I think I want everything I see. But the more I learn, the more I discover that I don't have to pay these kinds of prices to get what I need. Corn gluten-based pre-emergent weed suppressant (WOW!) has been around since the sixties, ...

I have never been one of those people who feel the need to "keep up with the Jones'" I like what I do, and I do what I like. One of my favorite hobbies, though, is watching the wild birds come to my window feeding station all year long. I always used...

Crappy tech support

They overcharged me, didn't give me my products, don't read emails, don't deal with them at all! They may have some good products but its not worth dealing with their customer service.

Customer service is a nightmare!
by doublebubba ,Jul 03 '09
I have bought many things from Gardens Alive and love their products. But their customer (no) service is so horrible I don't know what to do.
Their customer (no) service is in India, you can't talk to real people that know what is going on, and you can't ever resolve anything. There is a problem - they don't tell you. You have to wait and wonder - why did that order never show up - trace the order back to find out that there is a problem and then you are stuck in customer (no) service hell - and can't ever resolve the problem!
The bottom line is - I want to find other retailers to buy the same stuff from because Gardens Alive customer (no) service is so bad.
Can anyone suggest other online retailers that sell the same things?
Thanks!

Gardens Alive customers beware
by gpglynn ,Jun 16 '08
Organic gardeners beware! Gardens Alive fertilizers are not organic. Their catalogues don't say it but strongly suggest it by their frequent "all natural " descriptions. The prices for these products are very high. If you are going this route, you are better off using Miracle-Grow. Unfortunately I thought I had an organic garden for the past 15 years while using their products. If in doubt, try asking them on their website, I can guarantee you won't get a decency of a reply.
