Hertz ain't cheap, but they're good. They stay later than most at airport counters, their cars are always clean and mechanically sound and their people are friendly.

Although the web-site looks attractive, it does not represent what's behind it.

Just an example: Hertz does not address complaints submitted on-line. Very disappointing.

I strongly suggest using another company.

I recently rented a full-size car from Hertz Rental in Wilmington, North Carolina to travel out of state.  The staff at the local office was very helpful and knowledgable.  Our car was in perfect tip-top condition and we were overall thrilled with our rate discount.  We were also able to take advantage of a gas purchase program, and were able to buy gas for a discount of .10/gallon, which was a good savings.  The comparison with other car rental businesses is no match for a great experience.

I will recommend friends and family to use our local area Hertz in the future over all other car rental dealers.

We didn't have a very good experience with this company. Tried to ask about some surprize charges that came up and all we got was finger pointing. " you should have asked about that when you turned the car in" or when we turned the car in and asked questions we were told " you should have asked when you picked the car up".         And go ahead and use the C-Pass or I-Pass option at a Toll Booth, a 60 cent Toll will cost you a whole lot more, even if you use it just once. You will activate a daily fee of 2.50 per rental day. One 60 cent Toll cost us $ 10.60 .  They would not answer our questions, she just kept saying how sorry she was that this happened. She tried to passifiy us with a 50.00 gift card and I told her we don't want it.  We will be using a different rental company next time.
