I got a swiss army knife, got it engraved, for a gift for Father's day. It arrived on time, wrapped perfect for gift giving (as we live overseas), perfect engraved. I shopped 3 times on line with them now and I am very happy with them! Will certainly shop there again!

I ordered 5 votive candles at the end of November, only to be told they would be back-ordered until Dec. 16. When that date arrived, a live chat confirmed the package would arrive soon. I then received an email telling me it was still back-ordered. Well, today (Dec. 21) I received the package only to find it had 2 votives, not 5! A phone call resulted in a long time on hold, then a representative telling me she'll overnight 3 more. No apologies, no explanations. I'm happy with the product, but very unhappy with how this went.

Red Envelope is terrible! They do not deliver items on time. Their site gives you an option of choosing a delivery date, but what's the use? It still doesnt arrive on time. DO NOT ORDER FROM RED ENVELOPE. They are not reliable.

RedEnvelope is the only online store where I can find fun and unique gifts. The red gift box is definitely worth the couple extra dollars because I know that me recipient will love it.

Do not order from this company. I called customer service before ordering a necklace for my girlfriend and they said it would arrive on time and they said it would to get me to order it. It did not come on time, in fact it was not even shipped by the day it was supposed to arrive. I called to cancel the order since it was already too late and they said they would not. Terrible service and it amounts to fraud.

I'm really amazed that there hasn't been more NEGATIVE reviews on customer service and overall exchange/return process! I ordered a pair of earrings via web site for Mother's Day...days later received e-mail reading "We regret to inform you... unable to ship your complete order due to the unforeseen demand" and that was it. ? I called to get further clarification(no one at customer service had any idea about e-mail) I turns out to be back-ordered gift box. A few days later...present was sitting AT MY DOOR. I called ...BLAMED ME FOR GIVING WRONG ADDRESS. I then have to forward the original e-mail receipt to customer service to confirm my store. I was told I would receive e-mail info to help resolve. NO CALL or e-mail...finally obtained return label (sent back)and never got any type of confirmation that they received product...called again...awaiting e-mail : )
Red Envelope offered an unreliable Christmas promotion. In association with Red Envelope, in an attempt to show it's appreciation of their customers Comcast cable offered free shipping on Red Envelope products, guaranteed to arrive by Christmas. I placed an order on Monday December 25th destined for Maryland, well before the deadline, and on the 24th my order still had not been shipped. When I contacted customer service for Red Envelope, they informed me that my order would not have make the destination by Christmas. I live in California. If I had not contacted Red Envelope, I would not have been informed of their mistake. The only consolation they offered me, was a refund, or shipping to commence on the 27th. I feel they lured customers in with free shipping and a promise they could not fulfill, in order to boost their sales. There were several other reliable companies offering shipping by Christmas, that I could have used, and I could have purchased something and shipped it Fedex or UPS Next Day Air myself.

Their website was easy to navigate, I found my item quickly and completed check out with ease. The package arrived promptly, but I must say the best part of the whole experience was receiving the item and seeing what care is taken in their packaging. Love the products - order tracking showed the order being prepared to ship - and it arrived with that being the status. Since the order included live plants I would have liked to have known when it shipped and when it was expected to arrive - I was lucky I was home when they arrived on my doorstep in temperatures below freezing! It was tough ordering through RedEnvelope. I often shop through the internet and found it just so tough with them. I tried to order it once before and it failed with the same card number i used to recieve it this time..after i had called time after time to figure out why it wasn't working. Not much help from their support. When I finally ordered the same thing this time and it went through with the same card (took 4 weeks to actually get what i wanted with the same cc used) I see we have to tape our initials on it and it seems cheaper than what i thought. I gave in. I have had good service in the past and may order from them again, i am not sure. I just know it was a pain to do it this past time. Not sure I would want to go through that again.

I never got a confirmation that the product was sent to the intended person, which concerns me a bit. I'm one of those busy people who just assume things have been taken care of.
