Buy.com is a frequent choice for my pre-order DVD purchases. I have had 4 DVD's come damaged, but they do offer free ground shipping to return the item for replacement. Their speed of service and packaging has gone down in quality in the past year. I will keep buy.com in my list of choices for purchase. Along with buy.com overstock.com, dvdplanet.com, and amazon.com are all compared in price, and more important to me shipping cost, then I make my decision on where to shop. I am not impressed or overly disappointed wiht buy.com. They just had better deals ship times and packaging when I first started using their service. Read more

I sent two or three emails to cust service which were never answered. When I placed my order I specified that my phone number be ported. They did not do the port, which caused me considerable agravation and inconvenience. The order confirmation they sent me did not list one of the items that was supposed to be with my order, although the item did, in fact, arrive with my order. They do not provide a customer service phone number, and all of my emails went unanswered. Read more

They could be the best but I hesitate to deal with them more since it is a gamble if you have a problem with your order or do not receive what you paid for.
Major problem is there "so called" customer service. Actually non-existent. They simply do not resolve their mistakes. Numerous emails and phone calls to them get nothing but promises to correct. I purchased and paid for an extended warranty last year and have yet to receive it.

I ordered a Linkstation and matching hard drive, knowing the hard drive was not in stock. However, I expected it to be sent in a short time. When it appeared that the rebate was about to expire (had to buy both), I e-mailed customer service. Unfortunately, customer service just sent generic responses. This went on for weeks. Eventually I discovered the item that had been backordered was being offered on the site and I ordered it after customer service cancelled my original order (not at my request). The good news is someone finally reviewed the account and said I would be credited for the $80 rebate that had expired. That was part of the issue, but the real issue was I was holding up a change in our filing system until the back-up unit was operational. It appears that the problem was out-of-the-ordinary and the csr's could only pass the buck by sending a generic response and not answering specific questions. I've generally been happy with buy.com. I know it is costly, but a CSR phone number that is more than a call center that says "sorry, your complaint has been escalated" would have kept my blood pressure down. Read more
