There web site claimed an item was in stock, so I placed the order. I received a confirmation within minutes. The next day, they sent me an email stating that the item was not in stock, that it was unavailable, and attempted to blame it on a supplier. On top of that, they stated that it would take up to two billing cycles to refund my payment!

Obviously, they do not actually keep items in stock, but claim that they do on their web site.

Accepted my order, but a week later announced product was back-ordered. Finally received about three weeks after originally ordered. A small non-essential part was missing, e-mailed customer support and finally received a reply over a week later. They said they'd look into it! Wow, I won't be using CamerWorld again, too many good ones out there. Don't need this kind of grief.

The Item was advertised new however it was refurbished. The item was listed in stock however it was not. Money was immediately withdrawn from my account without a shipping date. I tried to cancel by phone three times, five days after my first phone and two days after my third attempt to cancel the item was shipped. The excuse was they are dealing with a third party. So the item was never in stock in the first place!! Because they claim the item was shipped (no tracking number offered) the refuse to credit my account.

Dealing with these people is a hassle and they seem to want to hold on to my money as long as possible. It may be several months before my account is credited.

My advice is shop some place else.

I bought some AAA rechargeable batteries from this site.  I was very happy with the price, as it was much lower than the other sites.  The item arrived in a timely manner and was packaged appropriately.  I haven't tested them yet, so unless they are defective, I would give the site nothing but praise.  Very satisfied.

I strongly recommend that you do not buy at this store. I ordered a camera, a memory stick and a case. I received everything on time except for: wonder? The camera.
This is not the entire story. When I called my credit card company to cancel the operation I found out that cameraworld had charged my credit card twice. For a camera that I did not even receive. Very unpleasant situation.

I placed an order with Cameraworld for some computer memory. Come to find out they do not have it stock and my order was placed in back order. The site clearly stated it was in stock. Be careful, with this company. This was my first and last order if it. I am hoping, that I will get me money back. Customer Service maybe sourced out to India. These guys are crooks. Plain and simple.

I ordered a Kodak P880 digital camera. They sent me a unit which had OBVIOUSLY been opened, probably used as a floor model. The lense was scratched, the LCD was smeared with fingerprints, and half the accessories were thrown haphazardly into the box. I really liked the camera and was going to keep it regardless, but three pixels were blown out. I can't believe anyone had the temerity to ship this thing as "new". For 800 bucks you expect a WHOLE lot more, like cameras that aren't obviously used and accessories that are factory packaged. On the upside the nice fellow in India who answered the customer service line apologized over and over for the incompetent red neck morons running the warehouse in Georgia and sent me a return shipping form, but even that took 3 days. I will never ever deal with these people again and I suggest you do not either.

I ordered a Creative muvo tx igb mp3 player on 5-24, the order form stated it was in stock, upon completion of the order i was informed it was out of stock and would be shipped from the vendor, I went to customer service and was informed it would be shipped in a week, after a week i went back to customer service and was told it would be one more week, after another week i went back and was told i would be contacted within 48 hours, after 48 hours i went back and was told i would be contacted within 24 hours, 48 hours later i went back and was finally told they really didn't know when it would ship.At this point i went to Dell and ordered the same item, when i went back to camerworld to cancel the order, I was suddenly told the order would ship the following monday, I cancelled anyway, I have never dealt with such a fraudulent company, you can't believe anything they tell you, I will never do business with them again, If you really want what you are ordering, go somewhere else.

I wanted to buy Simpletech hard drives. They said they were in stock. Then they emailed me that it was on back order. I cancelled. They said that they may not be able to stop delivery, that I should just refuse delivery. Then they said that they would credit my credit card but it could take 2 billing cycles (months).This was dropped whey I threatened to turn them into AMEX. I will not do business with them again.

I ordered for two SDHC memory cards from cameraworld.com.  It's been three weeks and I have not received the items.  Each time I call to follow up on the order, they cannot give me an exact status of the order, or when the item will ship.  I finally called to cancel the order and was told the order cannot be cancelled.  What kind of customer service is this?  It's a guessing game on when you get your item - if at all.  Beware of doing business with these guys.

I ordered two digital audio cables from Camera World. After Fed Ex lost the order it took FIVE phone calls for them to send the claim form. It then took three more phone calls for them to issue my refund almost two months later. I don't know how things would have went had there not been the shipping mishap; but when things go wrong there customer service is horrible.

I ordered a Canon multi function printer, which had just stopped being made, on October 3, my credit card was charged Oct 6. No delivery. I called numerous times, was told it was to be shipped from the vendor/distribution center. Promised 3 times that CameraWorld would contact distribution center. November 16th I finally called and was demanding. The Indian phone people, nice themselves, had no authority to cut a price break etc. on another printer. I gave up in disgust. It left me without a multifunction printer on an Alaskan island. And I can't find the same printer to order because CW jerked me around so long.

Hate to be so negative, but...REALLY poor service.

Put it this way: I've never written an online review of a business, but took the time to sign up here and do this. Cameraworld (a P.O. box address in Irvine, CA. and guys named "Jim" with east Indian accents whenever I call the 800#) have debited my bank accound $150.00 for an order that they confirmed as cancelled a week ago. An Email gift certificate no less! It didn't "ship", four days later they call to "confirm my order", I explained that the birthday was over and that four days is a bit slow for an Emailed gift certificate, I cancelled order then and there, and was told I'd recieve a "confirmed cancellation" email in a coupe of hours -- that came two days later, and this week they've gone ahead and debited my account for $150.00. And, obviously, not sent a thing to the recepient as my order was cancelled. So now it's back to the phone lines to talk to outsourced help in Dheli or wherever. Sorry to be so negative, but I thought I's save you the hassle.

The prices were good. The produce 7 boxes of 20 sheets each of label paper and one Laser toner shipped in Three separate boxes. It appeared that the label paper was back-ordered because the shipping notice on the first box (received a day before the last two) showed only 1 toner and 2 label paper packs ordered and NO backorder. But they showed up the next day. So if something is being back ordered, it would be nice to have a notice on the shipping documents or an email. Otherwise everything was as expected... PERFECT!

The purchasing of my order went fine. Refunds are an absolute nightmare with this company. I waited over two months for a $48 refund to my credit card account. Repeat phone calls left me frustrated - I was being told all sorts of things. The refund was processed and should show up soon, the refund had not yet been approved, and not yet processed. Finally, I spoke with a gentleman who was able to get my refund processed - he told me that my trouble was due to being directed to their overseas customer service instead of speaking with someone at the corporate office. I would not recommend this merchant, strictly due to the difficulty in returning items.

It was terrible they showed the product as in stock, cancelled my order without notifying me, still had the item listed as in stock and available to order when after tremendously long wait time trying to reach customer service they finally admitted the item was not in stock and could not be shipped. Zero notification they cancelled the order until I called them. Then customer service was useless not to mention nearly unreachable and not English speaking.

Trying to check status of my order didn't work because they couldn't find my order. They were finally able to locate it and I was told someone would contact me about it with in "24-48 hours".... no one did. After contacting them again I was told that the order could not be filled as they were out of stock. Never informed of this until I called. Both items were gifts for my husband. The camera case perfect and he kept that. The tripod was bent and wouldn't hold the camera level. My husband returned it. They received it just past the 30 day refund deadline, but refunded the purchase anyway quickly and without complaint. I appreciate that immensely.

Avoid this merchant at all costs! I was charged twice for the item, and once for shipping, making a $5 cable come to $17. I still haven't gotten the charges straightened out, nor have I received the cable. Cable was listed as "in stock" and "ships in 24 hours", yet it took an email 4 days after ordering to get them to admit it "ships from manufacturer" It's been almost two weeks now, and I still haven't gotten it. This merchant is a liar("in stock") and greedy (double charging) At first they refused to admit they had overcharged me, even though I sent them both confirmation emails from Paypal. They then tried to blame the overcharge on PayPal, even though the merchant comment was exactly the same on both emails. An honest merchant would have solved the problem, instead of assigning blame, and ignoring the problem for almost a week now, like this one has. NEVER SHOP AT THIS SITE.

They had no way to track the order. They send it off to their supplier and then have no clue as to when it will be sent out. All they say is: "The order is fine". I waited about 10 days, Heard nothing from them, as to when or if it was sent out, then cancelled the order. The rep on the phone was nice but said "Well, if it comes just refuse delivery" About a week after I cancelled it, FedEx delivered it - and I refused it. I had already purchased other cables. Not a very well run operation.

There were issues with the payment process and I was contacted three times by telephone and twice by e-mail. My bank fraud department contacted me because unusual activity on my account concerning this transaction. The company submitted for payment and cancelled by Ritz Camera and Camera World. They were for the same order but different amounts. They delivery was delayed and there were three different deliver dates for the three different kinds of storage media. The operations of this company seemed to be disjointed and not efficient. One follow-up was needed to correct a data error on my part of my account number. The additional two telephone calls and e-mails to verify the one change seems a bit excessive. Also, with the items in my order supposedly in stock at different warehouses, I do not understand why there was a seven day difference in the delivery of the first to third item.

Ritz Camera/Camera World is the most incompetent, clueless Internet merchant I have ever dealt with. It started on day 1 with misinformation, followed by delays and delays and more misinformation and "running around in circles". Then to top it off, ten days AFTER I canceled the order they still shipped it. The requested RMA has never arrived and phone calls plus over 30 e-mail messages have still not resolved the problems. The last e-mail informed me that they would "expedite" the matter, but that was more thna 10 days ago. This merchant should be BANNED from the Internet.

This was a major disaster! First of all, the web site didn't function when I tried to order on-line, so I wound up calling the order in. The site said that it was in stock, This was on a Thursday. On Friday I noticed that I didn't receive a shipping notice, which I thought was unusual for an "in-stock" item. So I called their cust service line and was told that it was coming from their "distribution network" and had no idea how long it would be. On Tuesday I received an e-mail telling me that it was back-ordered. I sent an e-mail back asking how long the back order was and got no response. On Wednesday I received another e-mail telling me that the item I ordered was actually a REFURBISHED item and if I wanted to cancel my order to let them know. Well of course I wanted to cancel! So I did and even got an acknowledgement on Thursday that it was canceled. The final straw was when I came to work on Monday morning I had an e-mail telling me that my item was shipped on Friday! HELLO???? I mean how much more can they mess up on a single order? This is the worst on-line experience I've ever had and I've bought many things on-line, including a $2,000 plasma TV.

I mistakenly ordered the above item and IMMEDIATELY emailed to ask for it to be canceled saying it was a mistake. I received an email back saying it was canceled. Then I got an email saying it was shipped. I emailed saying I wanted it canceled and they said just refuse it if it gets shipped. It was delivered to my house when I wasn't there and left on the front step. I called the delivery people and said pick it up. They said to mark it refused and they would pick it up. I did so and that has been several weeks. I have emailed and emailed and gotten no results. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge since it has still not been credited to my account. I called the Ritz camera customer services and they said I must have a tracking number. I don't since I just left the package marked refused on my door step for pick up. I have not heard from customer service again though they said they would be back in touch with me. It has been over a week since I spoke with them. This is a terrible way to do business. Please help. i purchased a camera and got a $50 coupon i then purchased a camera bag with the coupon but after filling out the coupon section of the order form it didn't take. I then contacted customer service and he said he would contact billing and would apply the coupon. I got and email saying the bag had shipped and was charged full price. I contacted another customer service rep and she said I would have to return it the re-order it again... She was not very friendly so i called back and talked to another person who gave me the same story... I asked why should I have to go thru these steps when your order form and your customer service person messed up. Finally after she talked to her supervisor I was given a $50 credit to my Visa. Because of these errors I had a bad shopping experience and a very negative opinion of your customer service

When this camera was ordered on September 29, I printed out my order confirmatin that was sent by email to me. It had nothing on it to indicate that a follow up phone call was going to be needed. We requested this camera be shipped overnight. I was extremely busy on that Friday and agin on Monday morning with payroll responsibilities. It was not until Monday afternoon that I had time to check emails and find one that said I need to call CameraWorld to confirm my order--or I should say reconfirm my order--I already had an order confirmation. After talking to someone in customer serivce I asked to speak to her supervisor because the answers she was giving me were not acceptable. She said she would transfer me, but all she did was put me on hold. When I finally hung up and called back the second person was of no more help. He only kept saying they sent me an email and left me a voice message--"so sorry". Well there was no voice message to me and the questions I kept asking, which no one could answer was, "WHY did this take a follow up phone call? WHY wasn't the camera shipped as requested? Our credit card was accepted--there should have been no delays in sending this camera. On top of that, the camera did not get shipped until Tuesday and we did not receive it until Wednesday when it was expected Monday. You might as well not have an ordering website and just make people call you so that you can confirm the order with the phone call. I definitely think you lack in customer service.

After completing our credit card transaction, we later received an email saying that we had to call to complete the purchase. So we did. First of all, the people we called barely spoke English. Second, they passed us around, kept us on hold, and even disconnected us once. Third, they didn't ask for any information that wasn't provided on the payment form, essentially wasting our time. Once the billing hassle was done I received an email saying that my camera would ship the next day and that I'd receive an email with the tracking number once it does. I got the email as promised but there was no tracking number. So I replied (to the customer service address) but didn't receive a response until after I received my camera. The shipping was fast once I got through the billing process. The price was good as well. I didn't get the additional warranty because the site didn't tell whether it picks up after the manufacturer warranty or if it's concurrent. I will not be a cameraworld, ritz or related company customer again.

I have shopped here for years and this is my first unpleaseant experience. The delays were because no one was checking my credit card. I had paid for a quick ship method and because of the dropped ball on checking my credit, which is perfect by the way, I got the order two or three days after I originally wanted it. The rep I talked to on the phone dropped the charge for the quick delivery after a few days of trying to get this settled and shipped. I recieved five e-mails to contact their security due to the size of the order. That finally all worked itself out. Then I tried to figure out how to claim the two rebates I was entitled to and got very poor help. I finally got that worked out but this was not a pleaseant shopping experience. I don't know if they are as good as they were before Wolf got a hold of them but I'll still shop there if I need anything else.

The CameraWorld website advertised the mp3 player as in stock but after I ordered it I was informed that it would be coming from Rio and there was no estimated ship date. A month after I ordered the player, I called CameraWorld, told them I considered it false advertising and "amazingly" the mp3 shipped the very next day. The Camerworld website continued to show the mp3 player all month as "in stock". When I ordered the player, I tried to use the website but couldn't since I was also using a coupon I had received from a previous order ($400 camera). So, I endured about 30 minutes of giving the order taker information, waiting, giving more information and finally finished - annoying at best! During the month, I sent several emails asking about order status but was sent generic, standard email responses that indicated no one had checked. I have had good service in the past few years from CameraWorld but will likely never order from them again.

This is my second purchase with this on-line merchant. They have excellent customer service. Even though the camera I bought this second time was shipped without a memory card, they followed through immediately when I contacted them about it and are shipping the missing item themselves. I highly recommend Cameraworld.com.

Abyssmal... I am telling everyone to stay away. You have only vaporware... no products. Your attitude is: "get the money, then ship nothing. Maybe the customer will go away." Also you have very little regard to customer service, corporate policy is to treat the customer like dirt and they will just leave you alone.
