I wouldn't be without Auctionwatch.com. You shouldn't be either! Online auctions are easy- easy- easy with a "secretary" to host your images, start your auctions on time, keep track of all your results in one place and more!!
I became involved in online auctions several years ago- first as a buyer... and inevitably as a seller. Who can resist the opportunity to sell that old widget lying around?!?
But where to put the images? How to keep track of what you're selling- and bidding on? How to get your auctions started at the right time so that they'll end when there are the most buyers/snipers around? Enter Auctionwatch.com
I've been using Auctionwatch now for over a year with outstanding results. I particularly like the convenience of "scheduling" an auction launch so that it ends at the best possible time of the day. When you end an auction can have as much bearing on your success as how you describe it. You want it to end when the largest audience is available to compete in bidding. I've had great luck ending auctions on Sunday evening between 10 and 10:30 eastern time- 7:00- 7:30 Pacific.
I've also found that where you host images makes all the difference in auction results. Photos... good quality photos (See my Epinion of the Sony Mavica 73 digital camera)... and LOTS of photos help sell anything in online auctions: People want to SEE what they're buying.
But just as important is WHERE you host those photos. I've often looked up an item of interest only to watch that interminable "retrieving images" message at the bottom of the browser. After 10 seconds I'm gone!! So are your customers!!
Auctionwatch.com hosts images and serves them fast... VERY fast!! (Be sure to read my epinion of RoadRunner)... before your bidder loses patience and moves on.
