I have been a long time user of Metacrawler, since the early days when it was still in testing, it has definately come a long way!
So far Metacrawler is still my first choice for more acurate searching, it searches several web search engines for the best results possible, and in most cases it hits right on!
Now some of the newer features are similar searches. This is a great feature once you make a search it will put up similar searches people have made at the top. Different combination of the words you just searched for possibly, or certain keywords matched with other phrases. For instance let's say you were searching for "Make a Pizza" it would give you your results, but if nothing looks right, it gives you similar searches for with the previous search I recived "How To Make Pizza Sauce", "How To Make Pizza Dough" and a few others! Awesome!
Metacrawler is a big help when doing reports. Imagine you take a are looking for a certain person, first search does not bring up good results just look at the other searches it lists and you may be on the road to a A+ paper! Parents this is a must for kids!
Overall it is a good search engine. Now others are trying to copy it, but hey it is the internet! Just like epinions started a good thing, people had to copy it! So it just shows when quality is made, people attempt to duplicate it! Go search!
